Diary Entry #1!

So, it's a grey, damp Monday morning in January - what better time to start blogging about the great outdoors?

I'm sat at my desk in London, contemplating the challenge ahead of me. Along with the fabulous Kayleigh, Leigh and Ben, I'm doing the Isle of Wight UltraChallenge at the end of April. We'll be walking 100km in 24 hours...give or take a few...

Kayleigh circulated the kit list last night, which looks manageable, although I'm nervous about the implications of the headtorch. I think it's dawning on us how quickly the walk is approaching.

Right now, I'm feeling excited, apprehensive, but mostly in need of some proper practice. I'm going to be rapidly upping my distances over the next few weeks, so we'll see how it goes!

Target for this week: 30 miles (plus 6 hours of dance class!)

Are you a walker? Any tips for preparation?

If you want to support us on our journey, we're fundraising for Roundabout Sheffield - you can make a donation here! https://www.justgiving.com/walkabout-for-roundabout/
